1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of Bridge (squarebridge.app), an online service published by Julien Laumonerie, a sole trader registered in France, trading as Nerie Studio.
Bridge connects to a Squarespace Commerce store to analyse its activity, produce recommendations, and — on the merchant's instruction — apply certain changes to their store.
Bridge is an independent product. Squarespace does not endorse Bridge, and Bridge is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Squarespace, Inc. Squarespace is a trademark of Squarespace, Inc. Use of Bridge requires a valid Squarespace account and compliance with Squarespace's own terms.
2. Account and access to the store
The merchant creates a Bridge account (email and password, or Sign in with Squarespace) and authorises Bridge to access their store through Squarespace's OAuth authorisation. Before authorising, the merchant is shown the permissions requested.
This authorisation is revocable at any time from the merchant's Squarespace account or from Bridge. Revocation immediately stops all access to the store.
The merchant is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and for activity carried out under their account.
3. What the service does, and does not do
The service provides: reading and aggregation of store data, quantified analysis, automatically generated recommendations, and assisted application of changes to the store.
The service does not guarantee commercial results. Recommendations are decision aids based on measured data; they carry no commitment as to sales, search ranking or traffic. The decision to act on a recommendation belongs to the merchant.
The service depends on third parties — Squarespace, Google, Anthropic — whose interfaces may change, be restricted, or be discontinued. Unavailability caused by a third party does not constitute a breach on our part, but we undertake to inform the merchant and to display any unavailable data explicitly rather than present an incorrect figure.
4. Changes made to the store
Every write operation on a merchant's store follows these rules, without exception:
Preview — the before and after state is shown prior to execution.
Explicit confirmation — no change is applied without the merchant's approval.
Change log — each modification is recorded: what, when, at whose initiative, with what outcome.
Undo where technically possible; irreversible operations are flagged before execution.
Pause — the merchant can suspend all changes at any time.
The merchant remains solely responsible for the content of their store, including text and modifications applied at their request through the service.
5. Data protection — processing provisions
For store data, Nerie Studio acts as a processor within the meaning of Article 28 GDPR, and as a Service Provider within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA; the merchant is the controller (the business, under the CCPA). Accordingly, we undertake to:
process personal data only on the merchant's documented instructions, including for transfers outside the European Union;
ensure the confidentiality of persons authorised to process the data;
implement appropriate security measures (Article 32 GDPR);
engage a sub-processor only after informing the merchant, who has a right to object. The current list is set out in the Privacy Policy;
assist the merchant with their obligations: responding to data subject requests, breach notifications, impact assessments;
notify without undue delay any personal data breach;
delete all store data within 30 days after the merchant disconnects their store or closes their account — except invoicing records, retained as required by French law;
not sell, share, retain, use or disclose personal information outside the performance of the service;
not combine one merchant's data with another merchant's data;
make available the information necessary to demonstrate compliance and allow audits.
Location. Order and customer data is stored in the European Union (Ireland) for all merchants, European and US alike. Transfers to sub-processors outside the European Union rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Categories of data, purposes and retention periods are set out in the Privacy Policy (squarebridge.app/privacy), which forms an integral part of these terms.
6. Intellectual property
The service, its code, its interfaces and its analytical methodology remain the exclusive property of Nerie Studio. The merchant receives a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for as long as their account is active.
The merchant's data belongs to the merchant. Content produced on their behalf — text, descriptions, recommendations applied to their store — is theirs and remains theirs after they stop using Bridge.
7. Beta, fees and term
Bridge is currently in beta and free of charge. Features may change, be added or removed during the beta. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any paid plan applies to an existing account; continuing after that date requires the merchant's explicit agreement.
The merchant may stop using Bridge at any time by disconnecting their store or closing their account. We may end the beta or close an account with reasonable notice, or immediately in case of misuse. Store data is then deleted within 30 days, unless an export is requested beforehand.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited to direct and foreseeable loss, and capped at the amount paid by the merchant over the twelve months preceding the triggering event (or 100 euros during the free beta). Indirect loss is excluded — loss of revenue, loss of data attributable to a third party, reputational harm.
None of these limitations applies in cases of gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or where the law prohibits them.
9. Changes to these terms
Any material change is notified to merchants by email at least 15 days before it takes effect.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing amicable resolution, disputes fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts (Commercial Court of Bordeaux).
